Micro Series and Off-Shoots

In media studies we have been looking at micro series, which are short online shows such as lonely girl, which was set up to for people to believe whatever the girl said but it had been a fake.

We have also looked at off-shoots from TV shows, that are put on the websites such as All 4 or BBC Iplayer. One example is Fresh Meat, the have extra clips on All 4, such as when Oregon was campaigning and there were extra clips explaining why she should be voted for or there a clips of video diaries.

Theory: TV Show

We have began to look at youth culture within television shows, we have look at shows such as 'Some Girls' and 'Grange Hill' as the older show. These shows highlight the youth culture difference and how their behavior has changed. I have chosen to look at 'Bad Education', 'Some girls' and 'Grange Hill', this is because they all vary in how they show the youth culture and it is portrayed in different ways for all of them.

Theory: Youth Culture Films

In media studies we are looking at youth culture within films. We have looked older films such as, 'Taste of Honey' and 'Quadrophenia', it highlights how much the youth has changed and the attitudes and values of people. They show the issue that some youths faced during the 1950's and 1970's and it shows the different to how people would react to those issue now.

We have compared these films to films such as, 'Fast Girls' and 'Inbetweeners 2'. In the film 'Fast Girls' it show how much the role of women has changed compared to the film 'Taste of Honey', it emphasis the amount of independence women have gained. Secondly in the 'Inbetweeners 2' they language they use is crude and is seen as unacceptable behavior to a large majority of people.
